Sri Lanka’s success in rehabilitating former
terrorists would make it the best model for other countries which
face similar conflicts and also in the rehabilitation of ex-cadre,
said the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, Brigadier Darshana
President tells UN Vesak Day parley:
Buddha’s words can douse the flames of rancour and discord
The vice of anger and hatred that leads to many
a conflict and heartache across the globe can be subdued through the
power of loving kindness, stated President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his

Help in reconciliation process, and not meddle otherwise
It is exactly 25 years ago that the
blood-thirsty LTTE terrorists massacred 31 bhikkus in Aranthalawa
and also brutally killed 11 villages in Kaduwelduwa, Polonnaruwa.
This is one of the many barbaric acts of Tiger terrorists. Countries
in the West must have a close look at all those incidents and the
human rights violations of LTTE.
