Miss England to hold beauty contests in Lanka

Premier Ceylon partnered with Miss England Limited, UK last week to hold beauty contests and pageants in Sri Lanka for the first time this year.

Miss Premier Ceylon contests and pageants will be held in Sri Lanka on an annual basis in partnership with Miss England, a leading beauty principal in the world.

Premier Ceylon is a high-end hospitality company which operates boutique hotels , spas, caravans, yachts, conducts events and offers exotic holidays.

Chairman Premier Ceylon Dr. Tissa Jayaweera said the beauty contests and pageants will be held in the provinces in keeping with global standards with the aim of flagging Sri Lanka into the international arena as a promising tourism hub.

Miss England Executive Director Angie Beasely, a winner of a host of titles in the UK said Miss England finalists will join Sri Lankan contestants and that will enable Sri Lankan girls to have a cross cultural and professional exposure.

The finalsists from Sri Lanka will be offered a ramp in the UK and other European destinations.

Miss England finalists and winners and Miss Premier Ceylon will be brand ambassadors to promote Sri Lanka in the United Kingdom and other European destinations. - LF
