39th Sunday Observer Schoolboy Cricketer Of The Year contest : SLT-Mobitel sponsors for the 10th year

The race is on, and the schoolboy cricketers will be all eagerly waiting for the commencement of the 39th edition of the Sunday Observer/Mobitel Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year competition that will begin soon as the coupons are already published in today’s Sunday Observer and will also appear in the Daily News, Dinamina and the Thinakaran ANCL publications.

This time the voting is a bit different from last year switching back to the old format of (Divisions) namely Division one, two and three besides of the main National awards. The lucky winners among the readers too will be rewarded with prize money. SLT/Mobitel the largest network provider has joined hands with ANCL/ Sunday Observer for the 10th year in succession as sponsors which has kept the flames of the Show flickering and helped produce the bulk of the best cricketers who have represented the country at all levels.

There have been other sponsors as well who have contributed to the successful run of the show in previous years.

In a quest to preserve the identity of the contest at the highest level the National awards will be presented by retaining the Sunday Observer/ Mobitel Schoolboy Cricketer of The Year which will be awarded strictly on merit.

The contest is conducted with the consent of the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association (SLSCA) and the Association of Cricket Umpires In Sri Lanka (ACUSL).
