Most of the Sri Lankan English Musicians and Bands are listed in this site and you can listen to their music, view videos, images and read the bio. They also have a Forum feature for music related discussions.
Anyone can join with or without a registered account to engage in music related discussions in Sri Lanka! The site consists of both, Pioneer and Aspiring artistes. Not only musicians, lyricists and poets too can showcase their talents and collaborate with musicians via the Community section.
All the services offered by this site is given free of charge. In an era where Sri Lankan English Musicians do not have any recognition and are underrated, co-founders, Heshan Perera and Asanka Perera decided to go ahead with this initiative and send the message of Sri Lankan English music talent across the universe. In order to take the Sri Lankan English music out of the country, they decided to expand the site by having English musicians in South Asian countries, so that Sri Lankan English Musicians would get exposure, when the website circulates worldwide. At present, the site contains over 125 artists in the South Asian Region. The site also consists a South Asian TOP 10# Chart where the latest English releases will be added to the VOTING section in the home page of the website, and the songs with the highest number of votes will stand a chance in the TOP #10 Countdown.
The voting system has been made in a very simple manner. All you have to do is, go to home page and click on an artist in the voting section and your vote will be added to the relevant artiste. The site also has a playlist option where users can add their favourite songs to the playlist and listen to the songs while they navigate throughout the website.
So what differentiates SoundGimmicks from other music sites? All the services they offer are given free of charge with no registration. Artists don’t even have to go through the hassle of uploading their music and updating their page. If you send an email with your material to the SoundGimmicks team, they will update your page for you.
