National IT Conference in September

19 February, 2017

The National IT Conference (NITC) of Sri Lanka will be held in partnership with SEARCC Conference 2017 in Colombo in September.

SEARCC (South East Asian Regional Computer Confederation (www.searcc.org) organizes an annual conference every year in a country in the region, and this year, its Sri Lanka’s opportunity. The event will run parallel to the IFIP General Assembly.

International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) is the leading multinational organization in ICT, recognized by the United Nations and other world bodies.

IFIP has the representation of ICT Societies of 56 countries/regions, covering five continents with a membership of over half a million. It links over 3,500 scientists from academia and industry. (ifip.org)

The General Assembly requires IFIP General Assembly members to come to Sri Lanka and it is expected that about 60 foreigners will take part. SEARCC Conference, SEARCC Executive Committee Meeting and associated meetings will bring over 20 top notch IT leaders from the South East Asian Region including Australia, Papua New Gunia, Malaysia, India and Taiwan. IFIP General Assembly, SEARCC Conference and National IT Conference has created a international, regional and national blend.

An event of this magnitude with broad international participation has not taken place in Sri Lanka in relation to the ICT sector. This is a golden opportunity for our ICT industry and the country at large.

We look forward to your support in terms of speaking at the conference, submitting papers, organizing committees, volunteering and sponsorships to make Sri Lanka proud during this event.

You can contact us at [email protected]. The theme of the conference is ‘Towards Digital Prosperity’. Under this theme, we will discuss within 8 tracks; CIO Perspective, Digital Inclusion, e-X (e-Healthcare, e-Education, e-Tourism, e-Services), Digital Media and Broadcasting, IOT & IOE, Mobile Apps, Digital Security, and FinTech.

The theme is relevant as people in Sri Lanka as well as elsewhere are discussing how digital infrastructure, digital systems and the digital economy can help them. We wish to explore these possibilities for the betterment of the livelihoods of people worldwide. The National IT Conference is Sri Lanka’s largest as well as a national event for the ICT industry.

The CSSL has organized it for 34 years consecutively, and this year will be the 35th. By partnering with two other regional and international organizations, the NITC will be staged on a strong and broad platform.

We hope this will enrich our ICT professionals and industry. We will meet the speakers at the IFIP General Assembly and invite them to disseminate their knowledge to our industry.

We will share more information as time goes on, but keep the dates for the event marked in your calendar. NITC 2017 will be held from September 13-15.
