The Kingswood-Dharmaraja 111th big match ended in a draw at the Pallekelle International Stadium yesterday with neither team being able to dictate terms to the other.
Dharmaraja having dismissed Kingswood for 167 on the first day could not make much headway as they were bowled out for 161 with off-spinner Ganindu Kaushalya taking seven wickets for 62 runs.
Nivantha Herath (40 with 6 fours) and Dulaj Wijekoon (41 with 3 fours) were the only batsmen to show some resistance against Kaushalya who simply ran through the batting.
The Kingswoodians in their second innings put up a better batting display scoring 102 for one wicket.
Yasod Kavinda gave an excellent display with the bat to score 58 with four fours and four sixes. With Amila Jayaweera (19) the pair put on 102 for the opening stand. The match was ended following the dismissal of Kavinda.
On their first innings performance Dharmarja received the T.B.Tennakoon memorial trophy.
