Senior referee Rankothge tenders resignation

Sri Lanka’s most senior “A” grade panel referee Aruna Krishan Rankothge has lately handed over his resignation with immediate effect to the Sri Lanka Rugby Referees Association (SLSRFA).

“After a long thought, I have tendered my letter of resignation to the referee’s association and do hereby thank all the referees who had supported me whenever I have faced ups and downs in my referee’s career,” Rankothge told the ‘Sunday Observer’He also thanked the SLRFU president, and his staff for the great support rendered.

Rankothge who has played and captained the first XV school rugby team of St. Sylvester’s College Kandy later went on to represent the ‘A’ division rugby club Kandy Youth CC for nearly eight years and also had a coaching stint with them for a couple of years.

He already poses a rugby refereeing experience of more than 20 years as an ‘A‘ division referee. He is also an ex-international panel referee, former ARFU ‘A’ panel referee, Level 3 qualified referee and Level 1 CMO.

Rankothge currently works as a Human Resources Manager at Sinhaputha Finance PLC, Kandy.
