The People’s Bank Achievers Awards 2016 was held at the Eagle Lakeside Hotel, Aththidiya recently.

The ceremony was held to appreciate and motivate People’s Bank staff attached to Regions, Branches, SME Centres and all the strategic business units.

Individual officers and group of employees attached to the Corporate Banking Division, Treasury Unit and the Departments of Information Technology, Human Resources, Banking Support Services, Marketing and Research, Finance and Management Accounts, Retail Banking, and Enterprise Banking and have contributed to the progress of the People’s Bank and promotion of the business through branch network of the bank were acclaimed.

Of the Service Centres, the Service Centres which had collected the highest low cost deposits and the highest personal loans were respectively awarded with bronze, silver and gold awards.

Among the branches, the branches that effected the highest number of Western Union transactions, secured highest balance of the demand deposits, increased the highest number of low cost deposits, issued the highest number of credit cards and the branches that have issued the highest number of personal loans, recovered the highest number of non-performing loans were presented gold, silver and bronze awards.

The gold award for the branch that has opened the highest number of letters of credit was achieved by the Kurunegala branch.

Chairman of the People’s Bank, Hemasiri Fernando was the chief guest. Chief Executive Officer/General Manager, N. Vasantha Kumar, Corporate and Executive Management and a large number of bank staff were also present.
