Former Sri Lanka national women’s table tennis champion Tamara Hewage (second from left) won a silver in the Women’s 50-55 age category doubles event at the World Masters Games currently held in Auckland, New Zealand.
Tamara lost in the women’s singles first round but in the consolation event she reached the final and lost in the fifth set after leading 9-7. “Overall I am happy with my performance,” said Tamara. Meanwhile in the men’s singles 70-75 category Dr Nimal Lucas lost the final in the fifth and final set.
