Kavan Ratnayake, who relinquished his duties as Chairman of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd (Lake House) on Friday, has been appointed Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
SLTDA is entrusted with the tourism industry and Ratnayake is tasked with implementing a national tourism plan that will broaden the scope of the tourism industry.
Ratnayake, who was responsible for turning around the fortunes of the ANCL and ensuring financial stability over the past two and a half years, will assume duties at the SLTDA tomorrow, July 17.
An old boy of Royal College, Ratnayake holds a Bachelor of Science degree in (Physics) of the University of California.
Before his stint at Lake House, he was the Country General Manager of IBM, Chief Executive Officer of Dialog Broadband and the Chief Corporate Officer of Dialog Axiata PLC.
