Mind is the greatest wealth on earth

Metta emerges when mind is on right thoughts
And right understanding which Buddha taught
Metta, the universal love originate in mind
Especially within those enlightened
Buddha the enlightened symbol of compassion
Gifted it to all beings with no discrimination
Metta is a mere natural flow
That radiates with overwhelming glow
Denotes enmity whatsoever with none
Only happiness and welfare of everyone
Metta is a component of noble living
Eliminating in entirety whatever ill feeling
There is no room for hatred to arise
It is loving kindness of the wise
Metta leads to cleansing of mind
Not only craving but also greed and pride
Metta uproots pride and vanity
Selfish feelings, also notions of superiority
Occasional focusing of mind on the subject
That all are equal and deserve respect
Rich and poor, high and low
Are all included in the Metta flow
Only hearts with Metta heavy
Can be happy sans jealousy or envy
Thoughts of Metta are a powerful force
With strong magnetic power of influence
Never does hatred cease by hatred
It wanes by love is the saying sacred
As sun sheds its rays on the globe
It bestows blessings on all sans any probe
