LTTE renegade leader and Minister in the former UPFA government Vinayagamurthy Muralithran alias Karuna Amman announced yesterday, that he, with his political well-wishers, has launched a political party – the Tamil United Freedom Front (TUFF) – to represent the interests of the Tamils throughout the country and will contest the upcoming local government elections.
The party will field candidates in all predominant Tamil constituencies and areas with a considerable Tamil population, he said.
He has accused TNA parliamentarian M.A. Sumanthiran of misleading the
Tamil people and the party. The Tamil-speaking people – both the Tamils and the Muslims – should unitedly voice their demands instead of standing apart politically, he said.
