Royal College cruised along without expending much effort to beat their traditional rivals S.Thomas’ College to win the 48th Regatta at the Beira Lake Waters ( Colombo Rowing Club) to retain the Noel T. Fernando memorial trophy yesterday.
It was Royal all the way from the beginning when they won almost all the major races and accumilated 34 points to the Thomians 4 even prior to the all important Boat Race with Royal winning that too with utmost ease.At the end Royal had 46 points to S.Thomas’ 6.
Royal’s captain Hashen Hettigoda was judged the Most Outstanding Oarsman of the Regatta with 26 points.
