A comprehensive report by the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) consisting of 831 State institutions will be presented to Parliament tomorrow, COPA Chairman and Finance and Mass Media Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna told a media briefing at the Parliament complex yesterday.
The report will consist of the accounts of the 831 state institutions for 2015, the Deputy Minister said, and that Government institutions which have maintained its accounts in proper order will be felicitated at a function to be held tomorrow under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
Among the institutions, the COPA examined include 50 ministries, 91 departments, 25 District Secretariats, 45 Provincial Ministries, 23 Municipal Councils, 41 urban councils and 271 Pradeshiya Sabhas.
He said the report of the COPA for 2016 will be presented to the House before the end of this year.
