Lake House strikes Gold

The Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development (SLITAD) at its annual People Development Awards 2016/2017 presented a Gold Award to the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd, recognizing its commitment for Human Resource Strategy and Leadership, Performance Management, Training and Development, Reward and Recognition of Human Resources.

The awards ceremony was held last Wednesday at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel with Dr. Harsha De Silva, Deputy Minister of Policy Planning and Economic Development as Chief Guest. Dr. De Silva in his speech emphasized that fulfilling skills gaps and thus empowering Sri Lankan youth to possess core competencies and required skills is an integral part of all training institutions. The government has created a skills fund and allocated adequate resources to aspiring trainees and to support training institutes.

He further said, with acquiring employable skills, youth will not only secure jobs but will also contribute nationally in securing large projects thus improving the GDP of Sri Lanka.

Access Engineering, Hayleys Plantations, MTD Walkers, Nestle Lanka, Pan Asia Bank, People Leasing, SriLankan Airlines, Bank of Ceylon and Union Assurance were among the award recipients along with Lake House.
