The good cheer Christmas Tree

24 December, 2017

Exuding the warmth and spirit and good cheer with which the Yuletide is usually equated, the Mount Lavinia Hotel pulled off an exciting start to the season of carols, when once again the Singing Christmas Tree was staged on December 15, and the choir of St.Benedict’s College, Kotahena enjoyed pride of place to open the series. The rainy weather took a seat far, far back and music lovers who came in their numbers enjoyed the singing of the choir under the baton of a member of the choir.

All the favourites were there, Christmas carols and Christmas songs-from Hark the Herald Angels Sing, the choir sailed through in harmony with the well loved songs and ended their performance with the popular Felice Navidad.

The Singing Christmas Tree program functioned till December 22, with the Presentia Music School featured on December 16. The other choirs were the Elizabeth Moir School on December 17, Good Shephered Convent on December 18, the Alethea School on the 19, St Sebastian Choir on 20, the Holy Family Convent choir performed on December 21 while St.Joseph’s College Choir rounded off the series on December 22.

What was evident was the enthusiasm of the choir members eager to make the music lovers happy with their songs. As to the music lovers they fell in line with the choir and sang their loudest giving the choir their full support.
