Ministry holds three dimensional printing technology camp

Several programs were being implemented under the guidance of the Minister of Education, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam for the creation of a school community with an ability to overcome technological challenges while advancing with the rapidly changing world.

The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Mobitel Institution and Research Creative Services and Sales (RCS 2) implemented a special three dimensional printing camp recently with the aim of celebrating the world three dimensional printing technology day. They popularised the three dimensional printing technology which is rapidly progressing in the world among school children in this country for education. The three dimensional printing camp was held for three days targeting the school children with the contribution of resource persons from the three dimensional printing technology institutions in Sri Lanka and the Robotic Technology research groups of Sri Jayawardanapura University and the Open University of Sri Lanka.

Provision of a broad knowledge of computer related three dimensional works, Electronic Science and the three dimensional printing to the students, appreciation of the products created by the students and presents were awarded to the winning groups at this event.
