The Annual Duruthu Maha Pinkama of Sri Parakramabahu Rajamaha Viharaya of Kudumirisa, Amunugoda marked the first visit of Lord Buddha to Sri Lanka, for the 66th consecutive year, on January1, by Ven. Parakandeniye Dheerananda Thera, under the guidance of the chief incumbent of the Viharaya and Chief Adhikarana Sangha Nayake, Ven. Amunugoda Somananda Thera.
Dhamma-preaching will continue till Jan. 31 and the ‘Thispaya Hathe pirith’ chanting will commence on February 1 and conclude on February 4, with an alms giving followed by a Devaduta perahera in the evening.
A blood donation campaign will also be held on January 28.
