The District Secretary of Hambantota, W.H.Karunaratna in his capacity as the returning officer for the district said that stern action will be taken against candidates who distribute goods as part of their election campaign.
He requested the people of the district to bring to his notice such distribution of goods to enable him to take action against him or her without considering the political party.
The District Scretary said that the election propaganda work in the district is going on peacefully.
