NITF teams up with Lanka Hospitals

11 February, 2018

In a move to encourage government employees to obtain insurance cover, the National Insurance Trust Fund (NITF) has partnered with Lanka Hospitals to offer special fixed rates for cardiac bypass surgery through the Agrahara Insurance scheme.

This is the first time that the Agrahara policy covers bypass surgery and will be a huge boost to the health sector as there are many heart patients who need to undergo bypass surgery. The heart surgery and PTCA (Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty) are generally costly procedures offered by private healthcare providers.

Therefore, the Lanka Hospital’s special rates for cardiac bypass surgeries via Agrahara policy is an immense help to the patients, Chairman Lanka Hospitals Dr. Sarath Paranavithana said. “The tie-up marks a special day for the hospital which provides world class health facilities. It has been the hall mark of Lanka Hospital. We provide surgical and medical intervention the best care possible,” he said. - SJ
