The newly elected Council of the Bridge Federation has taken steps to popularize the game of Contract Bridge in Sri Lanka in association with the Ministry of Sports Development. As a first step they intend in organizing Duplicate Bridge Tournaments at least once a month, to cater to all Bridge Players. The first of its Tournament commenced at the Indoor Stadium of the Sports Ministry. The Ministry of Sports Development has very kindly made available the premises to conduct the said Tournaments.
