Staying in the limelight is undoubtedly one of the greatest assets to possess in today’s fast food entertainment industry. And watching Hypnotic perform this couldn’t be truer. According to the blurbs the group is “the force of diverse and multi-talented performers from around the globe bringing you the Top 40 Dance hits to the easy listening jazz with R&B, Rock, Reggae, Latin, and Blues in between.”
Well that’s your cue to catch their performance come Tuesday and Wednesday from 8.30 p.m., Thursday from 9 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 p.m., until night turns to dawn! If you are wondering where all this excitement is happening it’s at the Lounge and Bar at Hilton, Colombo.
The members are a mixture of Canadian, South African, British and Belgian led by Hein Busch the Music Director, keyboardist and vocalist. The singing, dancing sylphs are Fern Lessani and Sophie Messina. The guitar work is by Felix Antoine Bergeron and if your favourite rock is Hotel California then catch his interpretation. They say that he is a confirmed showman and knows the art of working a crowd into a frenzy.
The Canadian born bassist and vocalist Lolo Dion is a multi-instrumentalist and has been performing at many clubs in Canada as well as in Mexico, Bahrain and China. Ian Ludolph the drummer and vocalist hails from Cape Town and has made a successful career in the snare and cymbal world. Playing drums was a dream of his and at the age of 12 he started his career by sitting at the drum set in church, and now has achieved his ambition.
Following the cliché ‘save the best for the last’ let me turn the spotlight on the two sylphs Fern Lessani and Sophie Messina.
Singer Fern Lessani has a dynamic stage presence and has to be seen to believe. She has performed as a singer and dancer with many groups in UK, Europe, UAE and Asia and as the blurbs go supported big names such as One Direction and OllyMure.
Sophie Messina hails from Brussels and her professional career as a singer and dancer has been successful for the past ten years. This has seen her perform on stages in Europe, Asia and the Middle East and with her repertoire that stretches from soul and jazz to pop, R+B, Dance and Latin any wonder she is in constant demand.
You can be assured that at the end of the show you will sing Overjoyed .
