Compensation for Lotus Tower victim

A compensation of Rs. 3 million has been offered to the family of the construction worker, Koneswaran Nitharshan, who fell to his death from the Lotus Tower (Nelum Kuluna). The compensation is divided between his two sisters and brother, who will receive a Rs. 1 million fixed deposit each. Nineteen-year-old K. Nitharshan died after falling in the lift shaft on June 8. The youth had fallen from a height of some 145 meters while reports say that the elevator he had fallen from was also under construction.
