Boyzone– for the last time

8 July, 2018

If only tears were laughter

If only night was day

If only prayers were answered

Then we would hear God say

No matter what they tell us

No matter what they do

No matter what they teach us

What we believe is true...

Undoubtedly the lyrics of this hit song by Boyzone has a philosophy of its own and will ring round your mind when you leave the grounds after having enjoyed the performance of the group’s one and only concert in Sri Lanka and the first of a series of concerts in Asia. In fact according to the blurbs it will be their 25th Anniversary and Farewell Tour and quite naturally should not be missed if, as the saying goes, you grew up to their music.

This tour will be a bitter sweet experience for BOYZONE but will see them in action in UK and Ireland as well. Ronan, Keith, Mikey and Shane in the face of constant changes of pop music have achieved sold-out shows and top selling singles.

Hailing from Dublin the five young lads including Stephen lived a dream like all aspiring young singers do – a dream packed with “hit albums, world tours, screaming fans, press conferences and TV shows” - and achieved it they did, when Stephen Gately was with them.

But sadly in October 2009 while the band was working on their fourth studio album ‘Brother’, Stephen Gately’s tragic passing away halted the other members in their tracks.

But they collectively decided to go ahead with the release of the album as a tribute to their “sadly departed band mate’.

‘Brother’ was a fitting tribute to Stephen. Apart from No Matter What, some of their hit singles included Isn’t It A Wonder, Picture Of You, Words, Where We Belong, All That I Need and Baby Can I Hold You to name a few.

The venue for the concert will be the CR & FC grounds and don’t forget the date August 16. The show will be produced by Classic Funtime and the promoters are DCI Events and Entertainment.

In November, Boyzone will be releasing their final album Thank You & Goodnight and we’d like to leave you with this thought from Boyzone....
