FIFA World Cup 2018 hits fever pitch at Hilton Colombo: From Russia with Love

For decades Sri Lankans were enticed by cricket. Time influences change and now we are excited and raving about soccer. Thousands of delighted footies are enjoying the spectacular display of football from Russia in the FIFA 2018.

This year, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Iceland, Iran, Spain, Korea, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia and Uruguay entered the World Cup fray with much aspiration. The matches turned out to be intense, as players displayed their sporting acumen, coupled with tenacious teamwork. The matches are watched by millions globally.

As the FIFA fever permeated sporting fans in Colombo, the Hilton Colombo had a dedicated football village at their poolside- bordering the Il Ponte restaurant which serves Italian cuisine. The large digital screen positioned just at the border of the pool, sent a colourful reflection onto the still waters. The venue enriched with lights, was filled with vibrant fans eagerly watching the match played between Croatia and England.

The pulsating atmosphere was supplemented with succulent snacks and refreshing beverages. In order to enhance the cool vibes Hilton Colombo had many prizes for their guests.
