The SLT eSports Championship 2018 is to be held for the fourth consecutive year with the launch of the first ever eSports platform in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) is bringing the thrill of competitive video gaming with the annual SLT e-Sports Championship 2018.

The Championship which sets the stage for casual gamers and competitive eSports athletes to come together, will be organised alongside the INFOTEL 2018 exhibition at BMICH from November 2-4 in partnership with the esports Partner, Gamer.LK.

SLT eSports Championship 2018 will feature many popular online multiplayer gaming titles such as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and League of Legends as well as single player titles.

A Women’s League and an under-12 championship will also take place. The Championship will be recognised as a ranked event by the Sri Lanka eSports Association (SLESA), thereby further asserting the tournament’s reputation in the country. This year’s championship will also feature an esports awareness area equipped with facilities to educate visitors and newcomers to the event about e sports and its benefits. In addition, a mobile games area and the professional esports arena will be showcased at the event.

This year, SLT has launched new types of esports events held across different formats and regions of the country to further promote eSports.

The company marks the end of its eSports activities for the year with the pinnacle event, SLT eSports Championship which promises to be more extravagant and colorful than previous years.

SLT is also introducing a mobile game development competition which will be launched at the event. SLT will also be launching the SLT eSports platform to the online gamers of Sri Lanka at the event.

The SLT eSports platform will offer tournament creation and management, Hosting Paid tournaments and access to full catalogue of online games.
