Sri Lankans in first autonomic technique qualification

Two technical officers attached to the department of physiology at the medical faculty of the University of Kelaniya have successfully undergone training on a new technique in autonomic function assessment at the All India Institute of Medicine (AIIM) in New Delhi becoming the first two Sri Lankans to do so.

The duo, Janaki Ariyawansa and RAG Ratnayake, hope to impart their expertise in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students of the department of Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya making it a unique chapter in the annals of the university.

The two Sri Lankans gained a hands-on training in techniques in physiology under the supervision of Prof K K Deepak, head of the Department of Physiology and Dr. Dinu Chandran an assistant Prof of the institution.
