The Prince and the Pauper

4 November, 2018

The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain is one of the books I like the most. It was first published in 1881. It begins with a pauper named Tom Canty and a prince named Edward Tudor who were born on the same day. Their features are identical as well. As time passed the pauper had a desire to see the prince. He went to the palace gates and Prince Edward on seeing him brought him inside. Then they exchanged clothes, and before they could change back, the prince in the pauper’s clothes was chased away from the palace. That’s where the story begins. I like this story because of the author’s sense of imagination.
