Anuradhapura is a major city in Sri Lanka. It is the capital of the North Central Province. Anuradhapura was one of the capitals of ancient Ceylon and it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are many historical places in Anuradhapura such as Sri Maha Bodhi, Thuparamaya, Abeyagiriya and Jethawanaramaya on the banks of the Malvathu Oya.
