The DFCC Bank recognised the outstanding academic performances of its Junior account holders at the Grade 5 scholarship examination on World Thrift Day recently.
The DFCC Bank rewarded Thigalolipavan Mahendran of Hindu Primary School, Jaffna, who was ranked second in the island and Ayodya Udan Rajapaksha of Model Primary School, Thambuttegama, who achieved all-island fourth place at the Grade 5 examination.
The two achievers received gifts of Rs. 100,000 each, in addition to Rs. 150 for every mark above 150 marks under the DFCC Junior Scholarship Scheme.
DFCC Bank CEO, Lakshman Silva said, “The DFCC Junior scholarship scheme was launched to motivate students to excel in academics, whilst impressing upon them the wisdom of adopting the savings habit from an early age.”
