Kandy, CR in make or break match

2 December, 2018

Kandy Sports Club play their fourth match in the Dialog rugby league today where they face off against CR & FC and both teams are unbeaten. Kandy SC have been dominating the scene for the last 20 years and the much looked forward to meeting between the two clubs will take place today at Nittawela.

Playing at home Kandy SC enter the match as favourites while CR & FC are in good form under the coaching of former Kandy player Nilufer Ibrahim.

There is much to suggest that Kandy SC have the ability under two top coaches Sean Wijesinghe and Fazil Marija to cause a good result.

A win against Kandy SC at their home den would be a difficult task for CR who will no doubt go flat out and have the potential to cause an upset.

Both teams will benefit immensely from the result that could carry them a long during the season.

The two teams have practiced well during the entire week.

In the last couple of seasons Kandy SC have won most of the meetings between the sides. CR have not beaten Kandy SC for some time at Nittawela where Kandy have achieved their best results in recent years.

The Kandy SC lads have put in a tremendous amount of quality work and have realized there is healthy competition for places dictated by a focus on their key skills.

Whoever wins is one up in the first round and Kandy SC has the home advantage and a win in this game would build a lot of confidence.

Both teams are very strong and are with the largest base to choose from to offer a fine performance to their fans.
