HNB Finance clinches Silver

HNB Finance clinched the Silver Award in the Non-banking Financial Services category at the National Business Excellence Awards (NBEA) 2018.

The 15th edition of the National Business Excellence Awards honoured corporate entities through evaluating business value creation in seven crucial areas. HNB Finance won the Silver Award for exceptional performance in the areas of leadership, corporate governance, capacity building, performance management, local and global market reach, corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability as well as business and financial results. Chief Operating Officer – HNB, Priyalal Arangala Finance received the award on behalf of the Company at the ceremony held at Hilton Colombo.

Managing Director, HNB Finance. Chaminda Prabath said, “We’ve been a steady and a trustworthy presence in the financial industry for the past 18 years. The year 2018 was a challenging one for the industry. Even so, we succeeded in effectively managing the challenges to create value for our stakeholders and contribute to economic growth of the nation. Winning the NBEA Silver Award in the Non-banking Financial Services category is a testament to our success.”

The NBEA is recognised as one of the highest corporate awards in the country. NCCSL (National Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka), the awarding body of NBEA uses a seven criteria evaluation model to judge contenders.

The model has been benchmarked against world renowned excellence models such as the Deming Award of Japan and the Malcolm Bridge National Quality Award of USA. NCCSL engage an eminent panel of judges to evaluate contending businesses.

During the past 18 years, since its inception, HNB Finance has won numerous national and international awards. The company pioneered commercial based micro finance in Sri Lanka and since then has steadily evolved in to a full-fledged financial institution.
