J.K. Rowling was born on July 31, 1965 in Yate, England. She is a British novelist, screen writer and film producer. She is best known as the author of the Harry Potter book series. She also wrote Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Casual Vacancy, The Cuckoos Calling and The Silkworm.

Her books have won many awards and sold millions of copies. In October 2010, J.K. Rowling was named the most influential woman in Britain by leading magazine editors. She is my favourite author.
