Sri Lankans who won medals at the International Grappling Championship and the World Unifight Championship were felicitated recently by the Secretary, Ministry of Sports Chulananda Perera, Director General of Sports Dammmika Muthugala and the Director of National Institute of Sports Science Sajith Jayalal.
The athletes felicitated were AGDP Bandara and ASCD Seneviratne who won the silver and bronze medals respectively in the under 77 kgs and 92 kgs categories in the Grappling championship and representation W. Lakmal and ACHK Atampola, the silver medalist in the Classic event of the World Unifight Championship under 75 Kg category Ruminda Rukshan Dihut and the representation Mahesh Anuruddha, the coach for both events, founder of Unifight Grappling in Sri Lanka and the bronze medalist under veteran category Open event of Grappling Uditha Peris were present in the occasion.
