A celebration of Christmas carols, presented by the Senior Citizens’ Collective of Thimbirigasyaya was held at the Thimbirigasyaya District Secretariat recently. It was a unique presentation with all the members of the choir being Buddhists and senior citizens. “The birth of Jesus Christ being a joyous celebration it is an event which brings everyone together without religious bias,” said their trainer, senior citizen Mrs. Manel Damayanthi Boteju. District Secretary Mrs. Priyantha Dissanayake was the Chief Guest at the event which was well attended by the public and officers of the District Secretariat.
