According to Hindu Religious beliefs, after reaping the harvest, Thai Pongal is a remarkable cultural festival which gives thanks to the Sun.”
“As the community which marks a new beginning, I wish the Tamils in Sri Lanka and around the world a prosperous Thai Pongal,” the message said.
