10 February, 2019

Well known icons in the international fitness industry Kris Gethin and Jag Chima will conduct their first workshop in Sri Lanka with the aim of providing proper fitness education to professionals as well as amateurs or beginners.

The workshop will be held on February 11 at the Auditorium of the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo where any interested parties, general public, national athletes, fitness trainers or fitness fanatics

Nine years ago Gethin turned to Asia solely because of his business partner Chima and together they simply turned the Indian fitness industry to a new direction and they will be hoping to do the same in Sri Lanka.

Gethin, co-founder of Kris Gethin Gyms, is well known for transforming the lives of people over the last two decades. Besides being the head spokes-model for bodybuilding.com, he is also the CEO of Kaged Muscle supplements and the Director of Trainers for Physique Global, a fitness, education and mentoring company, widely recognized in India for training movie stars like Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham, Karan Johar, Mahesh Babu, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Imran Khan.

During the workshop Gethin will be speaking about training techniques, nutrition and supplementation while Chima the CEO of Physique Global will be speaking about how to create value as a fitness professional. They will be joined by elite Indian fitness trainer Abhinav Mjuahajan who will discuss about myths in the fitness industry.

Speaking about the workshop Chima said: “Sri Lanka has good fitness facilities, but not good enough education. People who train need good quality education. Sri Lanka is 15 years behind the USA in fitness education. India is 10 years behind. Reason for that is the people’s way of learning that is still 15 years behind. They want to sit in front of somebody and learn and need the personal touch. But don’t worry we are here to change everything”.
