Lumbini College old boys calling themselves “Forward Ever” have drawn up plans to conduct a rugby and netball tournament in Sharjah, UAE on March 15 to coincide with the 90th anniversary celebration of their school.

The events lined up are a rugby championship to be contested by Old Boy unions based in the UAE, a tournament for international players based in the UAE and a junior tournament. There will also be a netball tournament.

Forward Ever has gradually become a strong Old Boys’ Union in the UAE over the past few years by emerging victorious at prominent sports events including rugby, football and cricket. Its sole intention is upholding the Sri Lankan sports community based in UAE and enhancing the skills of Sri Lankan players internationally by working in collaboration with other old boys’ unions as well.

The overall event has been designed to acquire participation from rugby enthusiasts by having an international tournament that includes teams from the UK, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain.
