Police defeat Serendib 4-1

Police SC defeated Serendib FC by four goals to one in a Super Six Round Premier League Division One football encounter played at Air Force ground in Ekala over the weekend.

Anton Ranjan opened the scoring in the game when he landed the first goal in the 24th minute for Serendib.

But that lead did not last long as Shabeer Rasooniya scored for Police SC in the 29th minute to equalise. Thereafter Riyas Ahamed scored another goal for Police to give them a 2-1 lead at half time.

Later in the second half MIR Mohamed scored two goals to give Police SC the four goals in the match.

Nilantha Pathirana of Police and Nishan Lakshitha of Serendib received yellow cards.

New Star win

New Star SC also defeated St. Mary’s SC Jaffna by four goals to one in their football encounter played at the Kelaniya Football Complex. WM Anas scored a hat-trick of goals while MMM Musthaq scored another goal for New Star SC.

M. Kabilraj scored a goal in 71st minute for St. Mary’s. A. Charles of St. Mary’s received a red card in 72nd minute while LDM Perera of New Star SC received a yellow card.

Moragasmulla-SLTB drawn

Moragasmulla SC and SLTB SC ended their football fixture in a 1-1 draw at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

RC Jeremie scored a goal in 20th minute for Moragasmulla and S. Sanjeev scored a goal in 60th minute for SLTB.

NKI Priyankara and PKP Gomes of Moragasmulla SC received yellow cards.
