The annual ‘Kalayaathra - 2019’ Awards Ceremony of the Akkaraipattu Central Cultural Centre was held at the Athaullah Auditorium, Akkaraipattu, recently.
The Akkaraipattu Cultural Centre Officer in Charge and Cultural Development Officer I. L. Rizwan organized the ceremony to mark the completion of twenty years of the Central Cultural Centre, Akkaraipattu.
It was presided by the Akkaraipattu Divisional Secretary M. S. M. Razzan while the National Congress Political Party Leader and Former Local Government and Provincial Councils Minister A. L. M. Athaullah was the chief guest.
The Akkaraipattu Central Cultural Centre presented the ‘Kalayaathra-2019’ award and several artists were honoured at the event. Prizes and mementos were distributed to the achievers, by the guests.
A special souvenir, ‘Kalayaathra-2019’ was also released to mark the occasion, while cultural events were staged by the students and artistes.
The chief guest and others were taken in procession to the stage. Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs Ministry former Secretary A.Abdul Majeed, Akkaraipattu Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman M.A.Razeek, people of the area, artists and many others were present.
