Rumethma Tennakoon -Chamodya Yapabandara -Kasundi Senanayake
Three students from Girls High School in Kandy will be participants at the World Schools Chess Championship scheduled to be held from April 17 to 27 in Turkey.
The trio is Rumethma Tennakoon, Chamodya Yapabandara and Kasundi Senanayake who are three of the best players in Kandy.
Rumethma Tennakoon will participate in the Under 13 age category while Chamodya Yapabandara and Kasundi Senanayake contests the Under 17 age category.
All three students say they are confident of doing their best at the championships which is said to be of a very high standard catering only to the most promising in the respective age groups.
