Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Religious Affairs, John Amaratunga inspected development work at the National Holiday Resort in Bentota recently.

The Bentota resort which operates under the purview of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has about 100 acres and is strategically situated between the Bentota river and golden beach.

Bentota is the oldest resort property under SLTDA and is the location for many star class hotels and restaurants. The SLTDA also operates a Holiday Bungalow on the resort property. The new development drive initiated by the Ministry, will give a facelift to the area and provide much needed facilities for tourists.

The Bentota National Holiday Resort re-development work is expected to be completed in a few weeks.

SLTDA operates similar resorts in Giritale, Passikudah, Anuradhapura, Kataragama, Nuwara Eliya and Bandarawela where it is responsible for infrastructure development and maintenance of the resort areas.
