Ashan Malalasekera, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Malalasekera Foundation received the Global Buddhist Ambassador Award from the World Alliance of Buddhists, at the Global Buddhist Building (the Master Nun Chand Centenial Building) in Patumthani Thailand on May 18 in recognition of his devotion and dedication to the prosperity of Buddhism.
He is the grandson of the eminent Pali scholar and renowned Buddhist leader Prof. Gunapala Malalasekera.
Ashan Malalasekera received his award from the ecclesiastical Pathumthani Governor and Honorary President of the World Alliance of Buddhists, Most Ven. Somsak Chatintaro Maha thera.
