Over 100 Lankan exhibitors at South Asia Expo

The 6th South Asia Expo which kicked-off in Kunming China last week will conclude tomorrow.

Over 100 Sri Lankan exhibitors showcased products ranging from tea, gems and jewellery, spices and ayurvedic products.

The theme of this year’s event is ‘Country for 2019’.

The Sri Lankan pavilion featured investment and tourism destination highlighting Colombo Port City, Sri Lanka – the Hub of South Asia and tourism attractions during the seven-day event.

Deputy Minister of International Trade and Development Strategies Nalin Bandara Jayamaha with the Governor of Yunnan Province Ruan Chengfa opened the 600 sqm Sri Lanka Theme pavilion at the expo.

Addressing the gathering at the event Deputy Minister Jayamaha Minister highlighted the enormous potential for further promotion of trade and investment between Sri Lanka and China, before a large gathering of business entrepreneurs representing South Asia and the South East Asia region and invited the Chinese entrepreneurs especially the Yunnan Province investors to engage in development projects and economic activities in Sri Lanka.

Featuring 17 pavilions and 7,500 booths, including the Belt and Road investment and cooperation pavilion, the green energy pavilion and the forest ecological products pavilion, this year’s event is being held at the Kunming Dianchi Lake International Conventionand Exhibition Centre.
