Girls’ High School Kandy turns 140

The 140th anniversary of Girls’ High School, Kandy was celebrated on a grand scale at the school premises recently. The school was started in 1879 with just 11 students. Today there are over 5,000 students of multi races studying in the school. The function was organised by the Old Girls’ Association of the school with the assistance of the principal, staff and students.
