Anthonian boy hits 208 in 80 balls, team makes 401 in 31 overs

Promising St. Anthony’s College batsman Harsha Weerasooriya made an unbeaten 208 against Sangamitta MV Gampaha in their first round fixture of the Gampaha District Inter School Academy Under 15 cricket tournament conduct by RB Cricket Foundation recently.

Weerasooriya scored his unbeaten 208 in just 80 balls with 33 boundaries and two sixes as he and Shanel Thimana (99) put on a 325 runs stand for first wicket.

St. Anthony’s College Wattala in the process scored 401 runs for one wicket in just 31 overs.

Some 24 schools and academy teams in the Gampaha district participated in this tournament.
