‘United Creatives’ to promote positivity and cohesion

17 January, 2021

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the European Union (EU) call on youth leaders, influencers and creators to promote peace through digital action by being a part of ‘United Creatives’, a new regional program in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

The initiative will support youth from across the two countries to create digital campaigns that offer substitutes for hate speech. The program is implemented by ‘Love Frankie’ a social change agency.

Despite misusing the social

media platforms to promote negativity, this initiative focuses on driving the communities towards a positive change while making sure to make the best use of social media diminishing their role in disinformation.

UNDP and EU stress the vitality of empowering youth and strengthening their voice with the skills to use social media dealing with the intricacies of the Covid-19 setback.
