A meeting took place between the Charge d’ Affaires of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Colombo, Humaid Altamimi, Minister of Public Security, Rear Admiral (Retired) Dr. Sarath Weerasekera recently at the Minister’s office in ‘Suhurupaya’, Battaramulla.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on strengthening the longstanding ties between the UAE and Sri Lanka in areas of mutual interest including the extending of bilateral support in the international arena the enhancing security cooperation. Also joining in the discussion were, Prof. Rohan Gunaratna, Political Analyst and Expert on International Terrorism, Narada Samarasinghe, Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Public Security, S. M. Ansar Moulana, Coordinating Secretary to the Minister and Ashan Malalasekera, Advisor to the Minister on International Affairs.
