Kingswood College’s under-20 soccer team emerged champions in the Central Province Schools Games for the third consecutive year. Even their under-16 team emerged champions for the second consecutive time. Now the teams are selected from Central Province to participate in the National Schools Games Football Tournament.
SA Weerasinghe and Kosala Navaratne are their two coaches responsible for uplifting their standards.
The Kingswood under-20 team was led by Dulaj Herath while Ashik Asmi led the under-16 team.
The tournament in the Central Province was organized by the Central Province Education Department and 24 teams from Kandy, Matale and Nuwara Eliya Districts participated.
Their under-20 side beat Zahira College Gampola 4-nil in the final. Inoon Ishan was the top goal scorer for Kingswood with eight goals from four games.
