Plenty of enthusiasm was displayed by the youngest of schoolboy rugby players in the age groups of U-10, 12 and 14 who participated at the Mini Rugby Carnival organized by S. Thomas’ Preparatory School, Kollupitiya and held at CR & FC ground at Longdon Place yesterday.
The day event saw 420 players from 28 schools turning up with dedication and enthusiasm to display their skills and talent in the game that is fast earning popularity in Sri Lanka.
Most of these encounters had close endings in the under-10 and 12 age categories while the under-14 category saw favourite teams like Isipathana and St. Peter’s win easily.
Only the under-14 category was played for the Cup, Plate and Bowl later in the day.
